Thor Odinson, as portrayed by Chris Hemsworth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a central figure in The Avengers.

He is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, who in turn is inspired by the Norse god of thunder. Thor is the crown prince of Asgard, a powerful realm connected to Earth.

In the MCU, Thor first appears in the 2011 film Thor. Initially arrogant and reckless, he is banished to Earth by his father, Odin, to learn humility.

Through his experiences on Earth and as a member of The Avengers, Thor evolves into a noble and selfless hero, dedicated to protecting both Asgard and Earth from various threats. He wields the enchanted hammer Mjolnir (later destroyed and replaced by Stormbreaker), granting him control over thunder and lightning, as well as the ability to fly.
